zoas not opening

When I have had zoas that hadnt opened for that long they didnt make it. Where did you get them from? LFS? Online? I agree with coraljunkie. try giving them an iodine dip.

I wouldn't say they won't make it. I had some not open up for over a week and are growing strong now. I would agree this is rare however. As long as they don't look like they are melting you might be ok. I would definately try the iodine dip though.

it could be a couple of things..
1. lighting..if you got them online, the tank they were originally in could have either had a stronger or weaker lighting source than you currently have. If so, keep them in the shade or slowly give them more light - - - place them towards the middle.
2. water parameters..have you tested your water? salinity? some times zoas do not like too much flow, sometimes they do! it all depends on how they were with the previous owner!
post some pictures of the zoas maybe you are going to have to iodine dip 'em

k thanks for the info. i got them at my LFS they were opened at the store, but since they have been in my tank they have only been opened partially.
