Please dont tempt me....Ill go bananas. Seriously Im not ready and thats on 2 counts. 1: Ill be getting LR tomorrow....my tank currently has just saltwater running. 2: When I get a little more comfortable in this hobby then I willl venture off into corals.
I want to be able to hold my water parameters in check and have some nice coraline growth. A little more experience in this hobby and I will be ready for corals.
Just so you know I have a 120g and a 30 g sump/refugium.
So if they dont eat anything...Im guessing you have to have stable water parameters, frequent water changes and Ill have to add additives in the water....correct?

stable water, correct levels, basic tank husbandry of water changes, and good lighting. the do eat but they use the light as their food source so good lighting is a must for them.

I went a bit over in case I ran into situations like this. I have T-5 HO lighting with individual reflectors.

that light will work nicely. I have 4 39 watts over my tank and love the light so far. and have seen some gorgeous tanks useing the same lights.

Stay thinking the way you are, be patient and take your time and I know for one It's hard to see something that catches your eye and not buy it! Do research I did on some and didn't think on others! Best of luck!!!!!!

Love your avatar...those purples are amazing. Reminds me of Prince for some reason
. Believe me I have alot of patience. As we speak I have LR in my tank curing....I finally got it today. So I know I have a ways to go. When I keep stable water parameters and feel comfortable I will dive head first into Zoas. Maybe in 4-6 months.

well by then we should have a huge list of zoos for you to choose as your wish list!!
Good luck onthe tank and you can keep a photo journal here on the site and document your progress as you go if you wish. There are several that are doing that and its a great way to see where your at and later where your tank is.

Sorry for the stupid question but, how the heck do you feed them ?

There are basically two different ways to feed corals, broadcast feeding or target feeding. Broadcast feeding is simply adding specialized food into a high flow area of your tank usually no more than once a week.
Target feeding is done with a syringe and (often with a plastic tube connected at the end of the syringe to get into deeper, less accessable areas of a tank). When Target feeding - it's important to turn off any powerheads/wavemakers so the water's as still as possible. Personally I also turn my protein skimmer off and leave my return pump running. Only need to do this for about 10 min after feeding the last coral.
After you've put the proper amount of food into the syringe, release food approximately 2"- 4" upstream of the coral so the food naturally flows into the polyps.
It is very easy to overfeed when target feeding. Overfeeding, as you know can create a whole other mess when it comes to water chemistry, algae blooms, etc so please stick to only recommended amounts of whatever food you are using.
