zooanthid growth?

I bought a colony of green zoos at ***** they were all attached to a fairly sizable rock... they've been in the tank for probably 3 weeks and they seem to be growing away from the rock, they were short and very close to the rock originally and now they've grown a semi-transparent base and seem a lot taller... is this normal? I thought they just spread across a rock... ?

Sounds like they might be trying to reach for more light. What kind of lighting do you have?
Can you put them higher up in the tank?

The tank is only a total of 16" deep and they're about 6" down, I have 130 total watts PC's. There are frags that have fallen off and are sitting on the substrate (because I haven't gotten around to moving them) and they are not "reaching" like the upper ones are. They all look extremely healthy though, stretched open as far as they can get.

Mine do that.I think they do that when they have alot next to each other. They fight for space to get light.I know mine has plenty of light so I don't think it a problem for u.If they look healthy I wouldn't worry about it.
