Zooanthid question?

Ok, this may be a VERY stupid question but its killing me not knowing for sure! Are zooanthids & button polyps the same thing ? (button polyps the common name for zoos?)

pretty much yes. They are in the same family. zoos is the scientific name i think. There are just alot of different types some that don't have noticable "buttons"....

I think
They're both in the genus Zooanthus spp.

I would like to add that a lot of the common button polyps (mostly the dull colors, brown grey etc. are in the genus palyotha) zoanthids are usually smaller and have a far more diverse range of colors- i love zoanthids
