zooplex sewage

i just bought a bottle of kents zooplex to feed my coral and when i opened it the stuff smelled just like raw sewage. is that how its supposed to smell? not sure i want to put it in my tank.

Many of the coral foods smell terrible. However, I have never smelled one that smelled like raw sewage. How long had it been on the shelf before you bought it? Is there any date on the bottle?

no. theres no date. there is an 800 number for kent so i guess i'll try and call them.

I use the stuff too. It has a funky smell. Not sure what to compare it to.

that stuff is pollution in a bottle even if its not expired.
your better of buying cyclops, dapnia and oyster eggs seperatly then thawing them yourself. not only will you not be paying for something thats mostly water you wont be dumping in food "broth" thats almost pure pollution.

I've had good luck with zooplex. Although I'd think it smelled like a crushed up flinstones vitamine.
