i went to the Lfs after seeing so many of your guy's zoo pics and really wanted to get them but there is never anything for reference so i went to the store thing they were about 1 in in diameter and the only zoos they had at the LFs were only about less then the size of a dime. Are all zoos this small or are certain species bigger?

Most zoos are much smaller than dime-size. Some button polyps can easily be the size of a quarter and their stalks can be several inches in length. Most of the very colorful zoos you see on this site are very very small indeed. The pics people post of them are very close up pics.. making them look larger than they actually are.

zoo's come in many colors i have some green eagle eyes some fire and ice some pinks some other tri-colors
then i have some green button polyps which are about 3 times the size of the zoo's...
they do encrust over things and spread it can take a while though so be patient when u get some ... another good thing to start off and add color thats easy is green star polyps i started with a small amount and its spread like crazy so i keep fragging some off and trading it with local reefers

Thousands... is a lot. Hundreds.. probably. If you get a rock with only a few on it then it will take a while to get them growing all over. The more you can get already on a rock the faster they'll spred and start taking over :)

Fire and ice zoos arent big. They are called that because they are red/blue (thus fire/ice). The only 'big' zoos are like button polyps and similiar ones. Most normal zoos are very tiny.

Here are some pics to help you get a idea of the size.
First pic are the zoos up close
Second they are normal size and you can compare by the other corals around them.
Third is a pic of button polyps (another type of zoos) which are quite large. You can see the size difference by the small zoos in the bottom right of the pic.
