I brought home a rock from my LFS and now have majono(sp?) aptasia in several places. Anyone know of a fish that will eat this stuff ?

Aiptasia: Peppermint shrimp (reef safe) will eat small ones, Joes Juice or aiptasia X will kill the large ones.
Majano: Joes juice or a Chocolate chip sea star. (CC seastars will eat other coral, so NOT reef safe!)

I have been fairly successful with Aptasia X but I wanted something that could help "control" new aptasia and therefore make it a little easier on me. In other words, less work for me while some critter gets to eat.
I guess I could try the shrimp you suggested
thanks

Wait, are you asking how to eradicate majano anemones or aiptasia anemones, or both?
Peppermint shrimp WILL NOT eat majano anemones or larger aiptasia specimens. If aiptasia is your issue, you'll still need to use a manual method to kill the larger anemones, while the shrimp should eat the babies. Keep in mind that its a 50/50 chance that your peppermints will eat aiptasia. Once they learn that other food is readily available (such as fish food), mist stop scavenging for aiptasia.
Unfortunately, there aren't many safe critters for majanos, they need to be eradicated manually.

Chocolate Chip will eat Majano? Never heard of that. I have a reef with well... 3-4 THOUSAND of them. My reef has Leathers, LPS, Clams, that are MASSIVE. As in multiple feet wide so tear down is not an option. I wonder if I could get away with one as I dont have many things the CC will even eat.
interesting!
Anyone have any luck with this?

DON'T DO IT! It will eat the LPS and definitely will munch on the clams!
I've never heard of this either, I'm actually interested to see where Flower found this info.

Nothing will eat Majano - you will have to take the rock out and scrub it they are a pain to get out of the tank

Bristletail filefish and the raccoon (?)butterfly will. Both are risks in a reef. Just get them before they spread to much with kalk paste, aiptasia x or even boiling water in a syringe if you don't have the first two. More methods out there such as pickling lime I just mentioned what has worked for me

I think people are confusing Aiptasia and Majano Anemones in this thread. Certain things that will eat Aiptasia will NOT eat Majano anemones.
