Didn't last the night......

A heni that is 1/6th the size and a royal gramma that is about the size of the pictured affliction.... needless to say- nothing could have attacked it. This Threadfin is HUGE.

Fired up the new protein skimmer today (extreme 200) and notice a couple "extra parts" that aren't described on the instructions. A yellow impeller looking thing and a ~3" x 3" black plastic mesh. Any idea what these are used for? Also, what is the general consensus on cutting down on micro...

Both eyes- could be some swelling. No signs of Ich on any of the fish. Again, they are new acquisitions from SWF and have been in QT for exactly 1 month today. Symptoms appeared to come on in the last three days or so.

IMO, it's a waste to cut down. That 4" thick is due to the 7' height and would just add unnecesary weight to it being cut down. Just my .02

Water thin Weld-on product available in small glass bottle at most craft stores would work great. It has a capilary effect and is drawn into the gaps and actually fuses the acrylic together. That is the same method the manufacturer uses on all of the tank joints; so it's good. It will not...

Nope, you will be fine. Your retrun pump determines flow rate into the overflow. If you feel it too much, you can put a ball valve in the return line to control the return flow. It won't hurt the return pump to restrict it's flow on the outlet side.
