I have a 55 gal and my clean up crew consists of 12 blue legged hermit crabs, 3 mexican turbo snails, and a coral banded shrimp along with fish that like to eat alge (such as a fox face). They do a pretty good job at keeping things cleaned up.

I'm far from an expert, but when we first put in our protien skimmer in we had the same problem with the bubbles. From what i'm told, skimmers will create alot of bubbles until they are "broken in". It took ours almost a month to stop creating bubbles.

Hmm, I see some people don't suggest "Saltwater Aquariums For Dummies", but personaly it's the only book we've read before starting up our tank and thanks to reading it - we have a very stable and thriving saltwater tank. It explains everything in very simple terms. I'd suggest it over anything...

I guess I could poke at it and see if it tries to hide in it's shell or SOMETHING. Any kind of movement at this point would be great, but I think I'll leave the sniff test to my husband.

My CBS is pretty much a jerk and needs to be slapped. He tried to take the nose off of my blue tang, but as long as everyone stays out of his way - he's cool. Thinking of getting rid of him though.

My most active snail seems to be taking a break - or at least I hope thats all it is. I've never seen him to just lay there like this for more then several hours. My water levels are perfect. PH - 8.5 Nitrite/Nitrate/Ammonia 0 - Temp 78 - Salinity 1.025. I'm just being paranoid.... right??
