Stable Tank, New fish keep dying

I have finally decided that having a Coral Beauty is just not in the cards for me. My last one lasted 7 days. I have since added a mated pair of false Percula Clowns, still have 3 yellow tail Damsel and the Yellow Tang. All are doing awesome. When I had a FW tank I could never keep Gouramis...

Stable Tank, New fish keep dying

Hello All, Still no idea what went on with my tank but all seems to be fine at the moment. Went to a different LFS and picked the SW gurus brain there. Nothing new in terms of what the issue could have been. Purchased 3 Yellow Tail Damsels there. He had no Coral Beauties. Went to my fav LFS and...

Stable Tank, New fish keep dying

I haven't added any new live rock or sand to the tank since I first set it up over 3 years ago. So I don't believe I have Bristle Worms. Everything I've read states that they hitchhike on live rock. I just don't get how a perfectly stable tank with no issues for 3 years all of a sudden goes...

Does live rock go bad? I woke up this morning to my Clown dead and 2 of the 3 snails dead. Using filtered water, all params fine, no electricity, salinity good and temp fine. Only thing left in the tank is 1 snail and the Yellow Tang. The live rock is old.

Stable Tank, New fish keep dying

Wow didn't even consider that. My LFS and I thought because I am on a well that there were metals or minerals getting into the tank.. So I have placed a filter on my water source and have been doing water changes every week. Was going to do this for a couple of months and try again. And also we...

Stable Tank, New fish keep dying

I've had Coral Beauties before and they were fine. My parameters are all normal range. As is temp and salinity. 2 powerheads, 1 protein skimmer and a dual bio wheel filter. About 50 lbs live rock and about an inch of live sand. What confuses me is how my Clown and Chromis are fine and have been...

Stable Tank, New fish keep dying

Well seeing as how I've tried 3 different times with 3 differnt Dottiebacks and lost them all within a 24 hour period, I think I'll just add a Coral Beauty and be done. That should be plenty of color.

So now that y'all have helped me with my Anthia issue, what's the general consensus on Dottiebacks? The Yellow Tang I got from the LFS is doing awesome but I did lose the Strawberry Pseudo. And it's not the first one I've lost. Have had no luck with them at all yet a lot of the website...

Spike was old when we inherited him with the live rock we bought, We had him for 3 years but his previous owners had him much longer than that. First set of Anthias were acclimated for 2 hours the 2nd set 30 minutes. 2 power heads, bio wheel filter, protein skimmer, heaters. Live rock and sand.

Hi, No agression signs, How do you know you have enough oxygen? We have 2 power heads, a protein skimmer and a new bio wheel filter. We have 2 unused power heads just no way to hang them. Thank You Flower. I belong to other SW forums but there's hardly any action on them.

Other than the Damsel dying and that was from old age, nothing changed. We replaced a filter that stopped working. We test PH, Nitrate, Nitrite, Amonia, Salinity and water temp. The Percula has been in the tank since the start and the Chromis over a year.

Hi, I have a 55 gl FOWLR tank that has been up and runnng for 3 years. I had a Clown, Chromis and Blue Fin and Yellow Tail Damsel. My Blue Fin was quite the bully so until he passed on I didn't add any new fish. Inherited him with the love rock we bought when setting up the tank. Spike finally...
