What brands of heaters do you prefer? What wattage did you pick for your (x) gallon tank? How many heaters do you run? Why? What temp do you set on your heaters and why? What kind of temperature stability are you striving for?

Ehiem and aqueon heaters. 100w for my 29, 150w for my 56&75. My heaters are set at 76-78.

I have three heaters. A 100w glass tube I use for my 10g brine shrimp breeder tank. A 150w glass tube for my 36g QT. And best of all, My Finnex brand 300w titanium heater I use for my 72g display. Hands down, the Finnex is best. First, it's titanium. Second, It's got a external digital temperature controller. I keep it in my sump and the temp difference between the sump and tank is between 1-2 deg. respectively.

300 isnt too much for a 72gal?. Ive always considered getting a bigger heater, figuring it would heat more efficiently. I didn't want to cook the fish tho

That's why its got an external temp control. I use one that large so it won't have to work so hard.

300W is for 75g? Plus bigger should be better for not over use, I ordered 400W Hydor heater yesterday.

On my 60 gallon tank, i use an aqueon pro heater 250 watts controlled by my ReefKeeper lite. These heaters are reliable and i like that they arent glass.
