Eshopps float valve.

I am looking to run a gravity fed auto top off to my sump.
I was just wondering if anyone uses this float valve. it says that the mounting bracket is 7 inches in length. I have 9" from the top of my sump to where I want my water level to be at.
if you know about this valve let me know if it extends past the 7 inches of the mount.

I've been using it on my gravity fed ATO for about 6 months.

You have to take it off and clean it sometimes or it'll get stuck open.

This is it on my tank.

I don't have mine pressed all the way down as I maxed out the height and wanted to bring it up more. My water level is an inch below the plastic rim, so about 2.5" from the very top. Then I have the extra inch where I don't have it pushed down and I have it brought up as high as it will go on its frame.

So I don't think 9" would be a problem. It extends down pretty far, wish it had another hole so it could move up easier. I may end up drilling a hole, but this is also just until I do get a sump. This is on my display.

Ok, got my float valve in today. In case anyone needs to know at the very lowest setting it with will raise the water 9 1/4" from the top of the sump

How big is the float part? I was looking at it but I'm not sure the float will fit in the return section of my fuge.

Seecrabrun, I just hooked it up temporarily to see how it would work. i will install it perm this weekend.

Imforbis, I will measure it when I get home from work and let you know.
