I currently have 2 but that was fine for my 55 and I was thinking about upgrading to 3 even with that, I now have an 80 and im wondering what you guys think is the correct number for that. Is 4 fine. I also have 6 peppermint shrimp.
The 2 I have now don't seem to be that active interacting with my fish, one was on the CBA that I have that has about 4 spots of ich on him still. He was cleaning his face. Outside of that they both sit on the left hand side of my tank doing nothing.

I should mention that really big Cleaner Shrimp will eat really small Cleaner Shrimp. If you keep them about the same size you can really have a large number of them. They will require extra feeding if there's a lot of them though.

I just took back my coral banded shrimp last week and picked up a blood red and another skunk cleaner shrimp and that seems to be a good set for me in my 90G tank...The blood red wants nothing to do but eat all day but the 2 skunks clean away as they should...even my hand when I put it in the tank.

BangGuy...did you mean 30 or 40, or was that a typo??? I am setting up my 125 in the future and love the activity of shrimp with my fish...if I were thinking of 10-12 that would be ok???

Seriously, one per gallon is just fine and long as they have a few inches of rock to call their own.
