This hitchhicker showed up in my tank several months ago. I had gotten a lot bigger but not spread. I seen some things saying that this may be Aiptasia pulchella a bad thing?? Please let me know.

WOW. they can make a huge differance. there is lots fo info about the benefit of a skimmer on this site as well as the internet. start searching.

Does the size really matter? A 3" pipe is huge. Undre the house I guess it's not really a problem but inside is a different story. Does any know what the flow capactiy of 2" My understanding is that 1" is good for 900 gph.

I am no expert, but from my own experience the aggressive tank need aggressive filters. I like big skimming, wet dry, lots of mechanical and water changes. I know that the water quality is not as important but with an aggressive tank can get way out of control. I think I would stay with the...

Can any one tell me what kind of sea star this is? It is less then 3/4" in size and has been in the tank for 3 months at least. Hitch hicker. I saw it the day I put the new coral in and then today. Not one other sighting in 3 months.

my understanding is that a fuge should be set up with a low flow so that it has time to do its' thing. If this is your main sump you may be way over the flow limit. My fuge is a seprate box running maybe 150 gph. That is on my 125 with a total flow of about 850 gph

I could use a small air pump at the top of the overflow to make sure that I am getting air into the drain. I am planing on using as much of the flexable PVC as possible to do this. I have found that much less resistance to flow and it is easier to work with. The real questions is will the 2"...
