    Diamond Goby + Eggcrate = ?

Thank you flower. We picked up the screen mesh and the goby tonight, so far he has gone nowhere near the top of the tank hes just spending his time on the sand. Also on both good and not so good news...the missing green clown goby that we saw being eaten the other morning, well it turns out the...

    Diamond Goby + Eggcrate = ?

We always put the eggcrate back on but I can see something coming up and forgetting to do it. Hmm any other ground dwelling, sand cleaning, reef safe fish you might advise?

    Diamond Goby + Eggcrate = ?

Hey all, we have a 55 gallon tank with a pair of clowns, clown wrasse and tomini tang in it. Wanted to add a diamond goby to the mix IF the eggcrate will keep it on the inside of the tank that is. 1 1/2 - 2 inch sand bed but we do have an additional 20lb bag of live sand that we intend to add...

    New at Salt Water Tanks

Sadly to remove them usually takes dynamite Honestly rock removal until captured is the easiest way, all though that way still sucks! Had to do just that last night to remove three peppermint shrimp that had decided to eat our zoas...leading me to believe that they were less peppermint and...

Yes the tank will need to run with the rock and sand and water in it until it fully cycles, which could take 4-6 weeks. Test your water every day or so so that you can see when the spikes start. After the ammonia, nitrates spike and return down to zero you can add a clean up crew, then a...

Yeah if you are going to the same guy that has sold you the other stuff (which I hope you aren't) don't ask him anything as it doesn't seem like he cares enough about what he sells to give you the right answers. If it were me yes I would run a sump under a tank that size. Just asking so...

    New at Salt Water Tanks

Welcome to SWF.Com! The algae is likely caused by a flow issue, what are you using for flow right now? You can move a powerhead to just lightly skim the sand (don't cause a sand storm though)! What kind of filtration are you using? Sump, skimmer how many lbs of live rock etc. Sadly a blue tang...

    want to add a seahorse

Do you not have the sixline anymore? And I thought the hawk was added last week when the clowns started fighting with it?? I'd say if you still have those four fish as well as the sixline and the tailspot you are probably at your max fish level for your 28 gallon tank. I'd also think that a...

    Hawkfish

I love the hawks, a flame hawkfish will be the last fish we put in our tank but we are still about 5 weeks from that as we just added our wrasse a week ago and we give the tank several weeks to adjust to the new inhabitants. But I can't wait to get him, love watching them watch everything...

    Hawkfish

I think the falco hawk has a min. tank requirement of 40? But I don't know much about the hawkfish (except they will eat your cleaner shrimp) aside from the flame hawk. I do know that they will jump out of your tank if its not covered well, I've seen several threads on here about lost hawks...

Nemo's Dead! Help solve the mystery

Sadly, there may be no reason why. Sometimes fish just jump, maybe to see whats on the other side . He may have been spooked by something overnight, do you run moonlights all night? Helps the fish to see whats sneaking up on them but he may have just decided to take the leap...to avoid it...

The suggestion of more live rock was based on the fact that that ONE eel is not all he wants in his tank. He wants additional fish and he also wants to know how to set this tank up to accomodate the fish he will want in the future, that is the reason additional live rock was suggested.
