I purchased a Hagen KH test kit and it states my carbonate hardness levels should be between 105 - 125 ppm (2.1 - 2.5 meq/L). I have a book here that states my carbonate hardness levels should not be below 150 ppm (3.0 meq/L). Which is correct in ya'lls best opinion? :notsure:

I have a 50 gallon tank with two Emperor 280 filter systems with biowheels, two penguin power heads model 550 and a water heater. The system was bought used with about 20 pounds of live rock.

My local pet store owner says I should not aerate. He told me the bimonthly 25% water change would adequately supply my tank with oxygen. To the contrary, I have a book here that states I should. Which is correct?
