    330 GALLON Reff tank diary

If the flow there is too strong for fish - you might try to put some kind filter there, like a filter pad. Or gutter guard, or something.

    Large water changes

But why are you trying to induce a cycle? Cycles are not good things; we all try to avoid them.

    Bubble bubbles everywhere!

If you want to minimize the bubbles that are made from the force of the water coming into the sump via the drain - put a couple of filter bags on the end of the pipe. It will serve a double purpose: trap detritus (and you can just clean the bags) and cut down on the bubbles.

Found pretty freather dusters, but what do they eat?

Feather dusters (and cocoworms) are filter-feeders. They take in nutritents in the water. Phytoplankton, Marine Snow, and other foods like it is what they eat.

    How often Should I feed?

Once a day is fine, but get a greater variety than just frozen brine shrimp.

    hatching brine shrimp

Most methods for hatching BBS are a bit annoying, as they require you running airline. There is a particular type of BBS hatchery that doesn't require that. I just got one myself recently and it's super easy: you put in some tank water, add brine shrimp eggs, wait about 12 hours, scoop out the...

    New 240gallon reef

Sounds exciting! The sand question is, I think, largely depends on your personal desires and tastes. Most people have 2-3'' sandbeds. And most people have white sand. I personally prefer the look of black sand.

Fish traps, am I wasting my time?

I've had success with commercially available traps. I've caught Tangs and Wrasses with it.

    Fish selection for aggressive FOWLR

There are success stories for all situations, but the reputation for Lions and Triggers not getting along exists for a reason. You'd probably be better off with a Lion in any case because 75 is not a big enough tank to keep a Trigger long-term. Triggers are big-time swimmers and get very large.

    Sally Lightfoot lost a leg!!

I've had my Sally in a tank with Feather Dusters and Gorgs. She hasn't touched any of them. She's fun to watch, always running around and trying to catch food when I feed the fish. She'll jump and occasionally do flips trying to catch floating goodies.

    Live brine shrimp

Unless you want to hatch your own brine shrimp and feed them to your tank as babies - they have nutritional value within only about 6-8 hours of hatching. After that they're like popcorn for your fish.
