    Wild Caught Inverts

I go to a beach in NY and every time at low tide.I see little hermit crabs and snails crawling around. And they look a lot like the ones I see at LFS.Maybe not as colorful, but still the same group of creature. So I was wondering if it is possible to catch a few this summer and bring them home and...

    My puffer died

My trigger didn't die actually. But he's not eating, the same as the puffer.I did euthanize him though, but it wasn't with chemicals(the expensive/easy way).I just took a knife and put it through its skull. Not the most "peaceful" or painless death. But I didn't want to make him suffer floting on the...

    My puffer died

Last night,my porcupine puffer died from unknown reasons.I gently held him in my hand until he finally died. There was no sign of sickness, but he wasn't eating when It came around feeding time. And even more worrying is that my trigger isn't eating either, and may have the same fate...

Yellow head or Tesselata moray eel

Since I'm going to be trading in my escape artist of a snowflake eel for being such a pain.Im considering getting a larger and different species of eel for my predatory tank.I'm caught between the tesselata eel and the yellow head eel. While yellow heads lack in beauty, they are not as aggressive...

I finally have a180 gallon tank,it fine except 2 of the fish are giving me problems. My lionfish is not eating,I gave him goldfish last week and he has already eaten two of the damsels,so he's not totally starving. I've tried giving pieces or small silversides,he sometimes flares up as if he...

    Peacock flounder and Emperor snapper

Iwamted a flounder because I may have it my soon to be predatory saltwater aquarium. And its okay ifn they don't do much, people love stingrays and they do the same thing. And I really find them that ugly(but that's my opinion),I actually find them quite interesting and unique compared to a...

    Peacock flounder and Emperor snapper

Around the web,I've heard about these two fish that barely anybody talks. The peacock flounder and the emperor snapper.Does anybody know about these two mysterious fish? And if they do,I would really like some information(ex.minimum tank size, compatibility with other fish, etc) from somebody who...

    What fish to get?

But catsharks don't need to move constantly to survive. Most of the time they are on the bottom resting or in caves searching for food.So a 180 seems fine for a non pelagic shark like a catshark.
