    Nitrogen cycle, because when you overfeed--->ammonia--->nitrates--->nitrites---> algae take in nitrites for a food source... run your skimmer and do waterchanges that might help, btw i do have astrea snails (2) and they havnt really touched the stuff they mostly hang on my glass and eat that...

    Is 130w good for a 45g reef?

    Im converting from a FOWLR--->Reef and im tryin to decide if 130 is good or i shud up to a system thts bout ~170$ for 380W My tank really isnt that deep so im just wondering if its ok or not to upgrd (tank is roughly 20" +,- 2" deep? Any suggestions?

    i just want to add about another inch to my tank right now it has about 1.5 inches in it on average so im just making sure doing this wont cause any spikes...has anyone else added sand to their already going tank? Did any problems arise?
