i have the exact same things on my tank...no clue it is orange with a tint of brown i tryed scrubbing it of too it was impossible to take off there are still spots everywhere

Nitrogen cycle, because when you overfeed--->ammonia--->nitrates--->nitrites---> algae take in nitrites for a food source... run your skimmer and do waterchanges that might help, btw i do have astrea snails (2) and they havnt really touched the stuff they mostly hang on my glass and eat that...

When my cyno prob broke out i was not using RO water... I immediatley used some Chemi-Clean about 3 little spoons of it for the 2 days then did a 40% water change... After about a week cyno was completley gone... now im combating green hair algae =( i did NOt turn my light source off for any...

i really have baaad case of cyno in my tank and im considering using this chemi clean to just a quick question (not to hijack thread but) can i leave my filter on with the venturi on so air bubbles will accumulate or shud all filtration be shut off?

im talking about the bagged kind like arag alive (sp?) sugar sized if i should cure it and watch parameters or wash it with RO water then add it to my main tnk

i just want to add about another inch to my tank right now it has about 1.5 inches in it on average so im just making sure doing this wont cause any spikes...has anyone else added sand to their already going tank? Did any problems arise?

is it safe for me to add more live sand at any time to my 45 semi-reef tank? I just wanan make sure,my tank is all cycled and all, so i dont cause any accidental ammonia spikes...
