    occulina coral

This seems peculiar. I found a couple bunches of this at the beach last summer. Does sea weed form a shell at the base like coral?

    toxic reef

Wow, I didn't realize. What about basement walls. That should be really stable shouldn't it? temperaturewize?

    occulina coral

The first picture is the one I meant. The base was kind of tan or light sand colored.

    occulina coral

What would the coral that looks just like this only dark green and soft except right at the base be called? I saw some on the beach in Ocean City, Md. and again in a LFS growing on some live rock?

    curing rocks

If you cure live rocks without a filter, but only with a strong airpump and airstone how will that affect the "passengers"?

I'm glad I'm not the only one wondering about this

    toxic reef

Does saltwater absorb what's in the air of the room an aquarium is in? I want to set up a nano tank in my art studio, however, I'm concerned about the fumes I may inject into the air spraying or painting etc. Does anyone have any knowledge about this subject?

    lfs uses peculiar method?

What an eye opener:eek: You know I'd been noticing dead snails at quite a few LFSs. Here I thought they were for the hermit crabs:nervous: That shiping thing is a big difficulty sounds like. So when you get things from online airmailed it is the same sort of problem perhaps? Is this...

    lfs uses peculiar method?

I have to say though, there is a guy a bit down the road who just finished setting up a quarantine/hospitol with a whole bunch of "rooms" in the back of his pet shop. They plan on aclimating the fish back there till they are stable then moving them into tanks up front. It is very impressive...

    plant growth/allergens

The mold is in just that one store. It is very humid in there. And they have cinderblock walls. It's like a moldy old basement but worse. Honestly, my house is very dry. The freshwater aquarium I set up awhile ago improved the air dramatically. Yes, There is a noticable water loss so I...

    30 Gallon Cube

I made the plunge. I bought a 30 gallon cube that I've been eyeballing for awhile. It has volume for corals and a few fish and short bulbs to keep the light fixture costs down (I hope). The length is the same as a ten gallon. Yes, I like to pace myself. Buying the filter is my next step...

    lfs uses peculiar method?

The most peculiar thing about that is that the sick looking ones stay in the shop the longest? The "bleached" look.

    lfs uses peculiar method?

After reading and reading it seems that everyone allows their invertebrates to adjust to their tanks by something called the drip method or by adding 1/2 cup of water regularly over a couple hours. I saw my lfs get new critters, plop the bags into the aquariums, wait, then scoop up the...
