This seems peculiar. I found a couple bunches of this at the beach last summer. Does sea weed form a shell at the base like coral?

Wow, I didn't realize. What about basement walls. That should be really stable shouldn't it? temperaturewize?

The first picture is the one I meant. The base was kind of tan or light sand colored.

What would the coral that looks just like this only dark green and soft except right at the base be called? I saw some on the beach in Ocean City, Md. and again in a LFS growing on some live rock?

If you cure live rocks without a filter, but only with a strong airpump and airstone how will that affect the "passengers"?
