How to best store GPS during long remodel

I am breaking down my tank for a home remodel, traded in the fish already, but have a ton of live rock and very healthy GPS. I was thinking it may work to put it in a rubber trash can in its own water, run a powerhead in it, and call it a day. I could give it ambient light and do water changes...

Does LR and GSP have an impact on bioload?

Sure - totally agree. I've had that angel however for about 4 years and he's still pretty small! I do plan to swap out some fish with the LFS to address this over the long term. Thanks for your opinions.

Does LR and GSP have an impact on bioload?

i think counting fish is not the best way to calculate bioload b/c size matters. 4 of the 9 fish are way smaller than a jelly bean...the dwarf angel is the largest - he is the size of a quarter. The two that I added are the smallest of the small - and I've not lost any fish to disease in about...

Does LR and GSP have an impact on bioload?

I have a 29g FOWLR tank and the GSP is nearly out of control. The tank has been super stable with very few casualties, but I just added a couple small yellow gobies and I worry about bioload. The tank current occupants include: >Bi-color dwarf angel >Royal Gramma >Benghali Cardinal >Six line...

Huge outbreak of red spores from GSP?

Sorry - no pics. I cannot imagine being able to capture the image well anyway, whatever it was it took the form of tiny red dots the size of a pin (the sharp end!). Very small, and millions of them. I took out the suspected coral where I saw them congregating like a halo around the edge of...

Huge outbreak of red spores from GSP?

Help! Even though I took out the suspected coral - its happening again today! I think my cleaner shrimp may have been suffocated by it

Huge outbreak of red spores from GSP?

I have a well established 29g FOWLR tank that has healthy GSP growth on most of the rock. I did a water change 4 days ago as I've done every 2 weeks for years. The tank is VERY stable - at least until this morning when I saw a blizzard of red spores (they were tiny red dots) that had consumed...

GFO flow rate question - flow rate vs tumbling rate

Just installed my first GFO reactor today. You may have helped me with that purchase if you were posting on my question about algae. Flow rate is supposed to be 20 gph but instructions say to tumble the media gently to avoid it being pulverized. I am using PhosBan granules. Tumbling gently...

Help please - I am losing the battle (and my urchins) over algae

I want to thank everyone that gave me advice here. I got the Two Fishes 150 installed with the Marineland 900 pump. The pump seems very powerful for this setup and 29g tank. So I have two questions: 1. I am cutting back on the power of the pump by over 50% to keep PhosBan from going wild...

Help please - I am losing the battle (and my urchins) over algae

BTW - I do perform 40% water changes each month (20% every other week) and replenish with RO water that I mix myself with salt. I know I should cut back on feeding - my fish are fat! I will also look into this GFO device. I hope to move back up to a 100+ g tank when we move again so will look...

Help please - I am losing the battle (and my urchins) over algae

I've had these pencil urchins for years.....they were in the 110g tank long before I downsized. My last tank was super stable - never a problem and most of my livestock lived for 5+ years and still kicking in the smaller tank. Looking into these GFO systems now. Aquamaxx has better reviews...
