Levels in the tank are on the level. Don't think that it is starving, it doesn't even close up when I put a small amount of food on it. I really hope that it is not dead when I get home....

Did you get the cylindrical sponge that can with the skimmer? If so, make sure and place the sponge over the the black inlet tube. It shold be covering the black cup looking thing that the air tube is connected to. I did this and the thing was frothing like crazy. Hope this works for you.
