I have found that new additions often hide for a while. Shrimp tend to be more noturnal so try looking for them at night. Hope all goes well.

I have to assume then that the zenia wrapped itself around a dead shrimp since those corals will take up residence where ever they can. Thanks for you help.

I didn't think so but some of this saltwater stuff is weird. I thought I'd done enough research on the zenia. But it was wrapped around the dead shrimp.

Yesterday I found my coral banded shrimp dead with pulsating zenia wrapped around it. My zenia has really spread and I was wondering if if can harm my livestock? Kind of like a venus flytrap perhaps?

I zapped my nasties with the turkey baster and hot water and vinegar. They never came back.

I suppose you could have gotten stuck with a nasty shrimp. That sounds really awful. I suppose there was no chance to net that murderer before he killed the fish? There can always be a "general" trait/personality for any creature but there are always exceptions to the rule. I'd get that...

Did you check the equipment? I found mine in the over flow box sucked up next to the filter pad. Poor little thing didn't make it.
