I had the same problem. It wasn't until I tested "new" water and it had .20 ppm that I knew the kit was not calibrated properly. I got a new test kit and my ammonia magically went away!:jumping:

Actually, my Ammonia didn't go up at all, it was the Nitrates that were off the chart.

When I got mine it was quite fresh but I put it in my Quarantine tank anyway. It was a good thing I did since my chemistry in QT got all out of whack. A week later I put it in my display tank and everything was fine.

I "placed" mine on a shelf on my LR and within a day or two it attached a "foot" and has been stationary since. No need to glue or anything.

I know that I should be putting my new fish into a QT for a few weeks. What about other items like hermit crabs, nudibranch, mushrooms, polyps, feather dusters, snails, etc? Should they all go into quarantine too? Maybe just some of those? Which? Thanks !!!
