I've been very happy with my G3, but recently the output is overflowing and splashing out of my sump. I cleaned the foam sleeve and it was ok for a week but then the same thing happened. Will the gate valve mod help w/ this problem?

Are you running a sump under the 75? When I changed from a wet/dry filter to a sump, my evaporation rate went from 1/2 g. per day to 2 gal. I partially covered the sump with glass and it cut the evaporation in half.

I was having a problem with my pom pom xenia. It was disappearing! I finally saw my purple tang munching on it. Anyone else ever had tangs eating corals?

What brand/ model skimmer is it? Probably need to adjust the flow rate.

The LFS told me the Aqua c EV 120 or 180 would out-perform the coralife by a ton. He sells both,so I don't know if he has a bigger mark-up on the Aqua-c or if he truly believes it's better.

I'll probably get flamed for not finding this on a previous thread, but what are opinions of Aqua-C ev, or ASM skimmers? I'm looking for a good skimmer to put in sump for my 75g. I'd like to be able to set it and not have to worry about water levels or adjusting it constantly.
