Saying what a fish needs in gallons is kind of skewed. Tangs need swiming room. I have heard a minimum of 5 feet in length. I am not an expert by any means, but the tangs at my lfs seem much happier in the bigger tanks.

I started with a 25 Gallon Tank. When I moved I bought a 175 gallon and I am in the process of setting it up. Get the biggest tank you can afford. At least for me, I couldn't do what I wanted to with a small tank. With a larger tank you can keep tangs and other fish that need swimming room.

Yeah I figure I would rather have the 250 now then have to upgrade in a year or so.

I really like the MSX skimmers, but I need to decide whether to go with the 200 or 250. The 200 is a lot cheaper and I think is what I am going to go with. Tank is 175 gallons with a 75 gallon sump.

I am going through the same process of setting up a QT. What size do most people use? I have a 175 gallon main tank and plan on having tangs. Is it okay to still have a 10 or 20 gallon QT?
