Bigger is better. I went from a 75 gallon to a 180 gallon. Now I am eyeing a 300 gallon. I just have to figure out how to get it in the door without my wife seeing me. If you are going to go bigger, go as big as you can. If not you will just want to expand again later.

This is the exact pump that I had on my 75 gallon tank. I had to place a valve on the discharge because I kept pumping my sump dry. I do not know what the capacity of the overflow was except, not enough.

I added a Snowflake eel to my 180 tank once. As soon as he was comfortable in the tank there went my crabs. Only thing that saved the last of them was the eel found a way out of the tank and died. I won't do that again!
