I have had fish go missing only to return weeks later. My chisel tooth wrasse and most recently my yellow watchman. The latter makes me mad because i got a replacement for him and then 2 weeks later they were both staring at me waiting for food.
So I did it again and started a new tank build. I got a 75gal tank for free so why not. The only thing was that it needed to be cleaned and the seals are in poor shape. So my question is what is the best way to do this?
They can be. With a lil common sense and some extra time they arent as hard to keep as people say. I wouldnt recommend it to a complete beginner but if you do your research and plan for one it can be fun. Also they dont live long so you have to factor that in.
I would scratch any puffer. They are aggressive and eat coral. You never know if you might want to give coral a try. As for me I would do a purple firefish, flame angel, yellow watchman gobie, yellow tang, orchid dottyback, and the clowns. Dottybacks can be aggressive so that one would be iffy...
I have to admit that i was intimidated when i first came to this site. If it wasnt for all the people that genuinely cared to see others succeed i dont think i would have ever posted. Im at the point in just 2 months on here i look through all the questions and answer them to myself and then...
Ok, the lion ive wanted is at the lfs and in qt. I know what the lfs says to feed it and what this website says but im curious as to what the people on here recommend. I want it to be healthy and any and all suggestions will be at least tried. Its a dwarf fuzzy lion and so far looks very healthy...
I just got back from something fishy in warwick, RI and its not to bad. I wasnt impressed with there selection of fish but i loved the corals and lr. Im actually really stoked because they had tonga branch which is so hard to find now. Its very expensive there. I paid like 75 for 5lbs. A rip off...
Hey sepulation, I have a quick question being the newb i am. lol. If mine already ate is that a good sign or bad? They ate an hour after i acclimated them to the qt. I fed them mysis and pellets. Not much but they devoured both.
Have you tried to feed them? I feed all my new fish within an hour of putting them in just to see how they react. It seems to help. Im a newb but i have to be doin something right. Im also very picky when picking out a new fish. Ill sit at the lfs for hours watching them. Mine are still messing...
I just got a pair of misbars. Currently in qt but they are doing the same. I think its just them bonding seeing as they were with more clowns at the lfs. Mine arent necessarily zipping back and forth per say, but the male is rubbing all over the female and and doing his lil dance. Im not worried...
Mine would have to be my chisel tooth wrasse. I spent 20 bucks on it but from what i hear that was a steal. By far my favorite fish. Dumb as a box of rocks. LOL. He spends hours at a time fighting his reflection. Leaves everyone else alone though.
I go to aquidneck aquarium in middletown on w main. Not a huge selection but theres a couple people who work there who have helped alot. Usually have really nice lr.
