Yes it does ramp up slowly. It isn't a big deal because I designed the sump to house it separately and it can only pull so much. It would just be nice if it went back to the original set speed. It just ends up putting a lot of air bubbles in the display tank.

I guess I am the unlucky one. I've shut mine off a few times for cleaning and it starts back up at full speed. Not a big deal other than pulling a lot of air

Found this post and realized I never uploaded pics of the sump. Has been working out pretty good.

Only thing I really do not like about this pump is when the power kicks out, it comes back on at full speed. I really wish it would go back to the previous speed.

Drool. Nice set up. Truly wish I had spare space like that. I have to wait until the kids move out ha ha.

A few options. Have more back up battery storage or also have wind power.

Glad you asked about acrylic and glass. All this time I've been thinking about buying a 300 gallon acrylic aquarium and I pretty sure it will now be a starphire glass aquarium.

I had a bicolor and a flame angel in the 80 gallon and they never messed with one another. The flame nipped at live rock while the bicolor nipped at everything.

Well I have resized the walls in the sump. I also added a break of flow in the refugium to change the flow pattern. Now just waiting 48+ hours for the silicone to cure. Thank you everyone for all of the wisdom and story's. Ya'll are great.

Bicolor angel, coral beauty, flame angel are all very similar. Same body different colors. I love the look of all three. My flame angel mostly picked at live rock, while the bicolor picked at everything.

Lmao yea I'm pretty fast. I didn't think about that. I'll definitely give that a shot. I may start breaking down the sump tonight and get a jump start.

Only about a gallon comes back when the pump is shut off. As of now the ball valves are shut because I know it will overflow when the pump is off. The bulkheads are my concern because they gravity feed.
