I've had my Lionfish now for about a week. He was eating ok but not much. I was feeding him silversides depending on size I only gave him 1 to 2 two times a day. Today he isn't eating at all. Just looks at the fish flares up then moves away from it. His body is about 3" and a nice color so...
Yes it looks really close to that one when open. And yes it hasn't been that opnen in like 3 days. I figured because the Scarlets are right on the edge. Kinda looks like they are eating part of him or something. I have been feeding mine Brine Shrimp. I asked the lfs what they have been...
Sry I cannt do pics. No camera. I do skimm alot and have a small amount of corals. I might try to have my skimmer on a timer and see what happens. Maybe letting it skimm for like 8 hrs of the day rather then on 100% of the time. And my elegance looks nothing liek the one above. It is more...
This is my 1st one so I'm not sure... Since I have been leaving it alone the scarlets are still picking on part of him. He has been fully open in like 3 days now....
Everyday I remove 2 to 3 Scarlets from my Elegance Coral for the past 4 days. Are they eating my elegance or cleaning it? Everything else in my tank is fine...... But my Elegance has been looking good since the Scarlet crabs have been hanging around him. I tried moving it from low in my DSB...
I currently have a 75 set up with a 55 sump. I was in a car accident a few months ago and my tank sort of went on a dive. So I'n now trading off about 80# of fiji Lr. Since most of the corals have dies or close to I figure it is time to change the look of the tank... I currently have :
75...
Ya you got the right idea. When the skimmer was in my old tank both pumps were under water. But now I have gotten a 75 gal tank and turned it into a sump. It sits about 6" higher then my last sump. SO I had to raise the skimmer section up. I made it 8" tall from the bottom, and the air pump...
I just got a new sump and decide to clean all the equipment in my old sump before putting it in the new one. My skimmer (Dont recall name) But has a picture of an octapus on it. It has 2 pumps. 1 for water intake and one that pushes air throught the skimmer. After cleaning it (carefully...
I had my drip system of kalk going over night at what I thought was a really slow drip ( 1 drip per 3 to 4 minutes). My calcuim lvls over 500 and REALLY low in alk. I stopped the drip system till I can figure this thing out. Now why would kalk raise my calc lvls but not the alk too? I did...
Last night I just started using a drip system of Kalk. Now I was just wondering about adding another to help bring up the alk or do I just dose alittle everey other day or so? Less work for me the better so that I can work on other things for my tank.
In a 5 gallon Kent container I was wondering on how much of the kalk do I add to the container? Also how slow should I have it drip in my sump? Any info on this subject would be greatly appreciated. THX
So my plankton should be refrigerated? Or leaveing it in the cubbard be ok? I have been doing this for a really long time and never heard that it had to be refrigerated.
