Just an accident. I was trying some different things to make my pics of the tank turn out better and placed my finger over the flash. I guess the image was caught off of the reflection of the glass. Just thought that it was pretty cool.

That is a great setup. Do you think that I would have any problems recreating that with a pump to siphon the water out of the tank instead of using gravity fed draining?

Thanks for the ideas. I am just afraid to cut my Glass tank. I think what I will do is get a pump to siphon out the water and then one to pump it back into the tank.

Thanks for the advise Sly. The filtration is about 450gal Per Hour with the Penguin and the Emperor. I guess that my sand bed is in between the SSB and DSB at around 2 - 2 1/2 inches. I do not clean the sand bed. The pictures that you saw were a few weeks old. The tank looks much better now...

I do not have a canopy for my tank that is why I am using the cover. I am not sure that I understand the eggcrate? Isn't that what you put on your bed? Just curious how the lights wouldn't melt it, and how the light would pass through it. Sounds cool though. Do you have any pics????

To me you can never overkill with the quality of a skimmer. That one is great. You can also look at the Sea Clone, and Read Sea Berlin Protein Skimmers. I have heard great reviews on the Red Sea Skimmers. Good Luck!!!:D
