    Frogspawn Question

Thanks NMReef. The reason I was asking was because I've noticed my frogspawn having small tentacles. They almost look like small stubs. I do not know if it is growing or receding? I don't know if you can see the small stubs on the frogspawn. Those are the stubs that I'm talking about. The rest...

    Frogspawn Question

Is a frogspawn photosynthetic and/or does it need to be spot fed? If it does need to be spot fed, what should it be fed? :notsure:

    please help very confused!!

How long has the tank been set up? What color is the algae? What's your water temp? PH- Should be at approx. 8.3-8.4 Salinity- 1.023-1.025 Personally, I would stay away from the metal removing chemicals. Have you tested for phosphates? You shouldn't have phosphates if you use RO water? The...

    Which Canister filter is better?

I used the 650 on a 40 and then the 750 on a 75. I have no idea where they are manufactured, but like I said before I never had a problem with them. I no longer use them because I purchased a sump.

    Tank Pics; Nothing Fancy

Thanks guys! :joy: It was a lot of hard work and some saving of $$$. My brother helped me out a lot. He was the architect and I was the construction worker. I'm learning something new everyday. Like most experienced reefers say on here, "It takes patience."

    Which Canister filter is better?

I've used a Via Aqua 650 and 750. Never had any problems with them. Simple to use and they were cheap. Just do a search online and you should be able get more info on them.

I think the Shipping Dept messed up

If you are talking about about green star polyps, then yes that is what they look like when they are retracted. I bought my GSPs at the local LFS and they were like that for one day. They eventually came out and now look like a green carpet. Pretty easy to keep. :happyfish

think I have the longest cycle !!!

Steve, Did you happen to remove the bio-media (plastic shavings) from the Bak-Pak simmer? I have a CPR Bak Pak Skimmer and I tossed the bio-media that comes with it. That bio-media traps al ot of junk.

    CPR backpak help

Have you taken the tubing off and flushed it hot water? Have you adjusted the black air nozzle? Sometimes salt creep gets into the airline tubing.

    Cleaning Filter Socks

I have 200 micron filter sock. It gets pretty filthy after two weeks with a brown film. I clean the filter sock using a water hose. I attached a high pressure nozzle to the water hose. It really cleans the sock vey well. It takes me about 5-10 minutes to clean it. Looks like new afterwards...

    Challenging tank size requirements?!?!?

Tall tanks are a pain in the butt to clean. I have a 75 gallon tall tank, 36x15x30. As mentioned before, tall tanks are difficult to clean. As far as aquascaping it is difficult as well. Just a couple weeks ago I was about to trash the tank and get a shorter one, due to the difficulty of...
