My Ich Killer 2000 - Please read!

You can't "kill off" ich with a UV. Ich is always there, you just cant see it. If you get some garlic additive at th lfs and soak the food in it that will help their immune sys GREATLY. As far as quarentine tank they are a waste of time unless they are new fish. The fish will get shock when you...

    Gecko shark?

Its not like that. Its that most of those species are nocturnal and hardly see them, thats all. I do see your point and understand that some sharks constantly need to swim. Also i'm just in the research stages of sharks and they wouldnt be going in a 125g. I have a "hand-on" a 500g that is...

    Lighting question

The coralife bulbs are the "40% extra light" bulbs. They have a built in reflector and either way no matter what bulb you put in your fixture theres not enough power for reef life. You will need to buy a power compact or a ballast with VHO bulbs.

    Lighting question

No, there are no lights that will work with the basic fixture that you have now. Its not the bulbs thats the problem its whats powering the bulbs. There is a bulb that you can get that claims it gives 40% extra light from a basic fixture but still not enough for reef acomodations. Look for a...

    lighting

If you go with the Ice-Cap and VHO bulbs you would only haveto change out the bulbs to longer ones, and just remount them in the new hood. But for a 125 you might need 6 bulbs and maybe another ballast to have "great" lighting.

    Lighting question

No..those lights are not near what you need. They only put out about .22 watts per gallon and you need anywhere from 3.5 to 8 to grow corals and anemones. I found a used power compact for $150 and it gives me 4.7 watts per gal. But if you have the cash you should just go with an Ice-Cap and...
