Kole/ Yellow Eye Tang not eating

You can even try a leaf of roman lettuce, this sometimes works very well when tangs are finicky when they first arrive in their new home. Althought the algea sheets are much better for them.

Cheapest way to cool your tank!!!

A friend of mine did it 2 different ways: These are just cheap ways of setting up a chiller not the best way just cheap ones. 1) He dug a 4 foot deep hole in the ground outside put a 5 gal. bucket (sealed) in it and covered it up. He pumped water into it and the pressure pushed the water back...

    kole tang needs help

Possibly, Koles are pretty hardy tangs and can usually take a lil stress. I would just keep your hands out of the tank for a bit and just watch him. He should calm down hopefully if he doesn't then I would think about switching out the power head for a lower flow one.

    kole tang needs help

It might be too much current for him to handle in the tank? Just a thought What size tank is it you may want to try a smaller less powerful powerhead.

    Newbie Fish food question

Yup I sure have but I think its just cause my yellow tang is a pig and may be over stuffing himself. I still feed lettuce just not near as much as I used to. IMO the sheets are just better for them.

    Newbie Fish food question

Spectrum is an amazing food it is all my fish will eat. I use the small sinking pellet and its a frenzy at feeding time. I used to feed romaine lettuce all the time and I still recommend if you have a problem getting a fish to eat but the seaweed sheets are a much better food. In my experience...

    longnose butterfly help

Long nose butterflies are reef pickers by nature they just pick at the rocks and such. If you want to try and jump start its eating then you may want to try live brine shrimp or even live tubiflex worms (neither is a very nutricious food but it may get the fish eating and then you can move on...

    angels

Coral Beauty's are in the dwarf angel family and should do fine in your 55 gal. They are pickers and will just pick at your rocks all day eating. A kole tang as was said would be a good choice with the 4 fish you listed.

    something is amiss

How do you have the wet/dry system set up are you using bio balls or live rockor are you just using it as a sump ? The reason I ask is because if you are using bio balls or even to a smaller degree live rock, you tank might be mini cycling which can cause the fish to breathe heavy.
