they should be fine in daylight..as long as they eat it is cool. and they do come out in the day sometimes..

Not sure they will spread. They will get very big if you hand feed it with shrimp once or twice a week. They don't like lots of flow either.

from what I've read, not many people have success with plate corals. the will do fine for a while and suddenly just started to die.

I have yet to see a good skimmerless tank pics. I am sure they are out there though. Plus my skimmer sucks, hardly does anything, so one can say i am almost skimmerless. If i had to do it again, I would get a better skimmer, or better yet I better save some money and get a better one.

usually that is a sign that it is unhappy with something...mine usually doesn't come out if the temp. get above 82F

i think there are two type of coralline algae, green and purple. both are circular patches and calcious. green seems to grow under bright light, while purple prefers darker are, IME anyway....but I could be wrong.
