Dormant Leather Coral?

I have had a sarcophyton, leather coral, for 6 months now. He has shed his waxy layer a couple of times when I first got him. His polyps retracted for 2 or 3 days at most. That was the last time, about 6 months ago. Now to the present, 2 weeks ago, his polyps retracted and they really haven't come out yet. 2 days ago, I noticed the waxy lining was shedding and hermits have been feasting. The polyps are coming out a bout 1 mm and thats it. Is there something wrong or is he having a major shedding? Any advice would be helpful. He is getting 4 wpg, good circulation, good water quality and has been very healthy up until 2 weeks ago. All other corals look great! Thanks!

usually that is a sign that it is unhappy with something...mine usually doesn't come out if the temp. get above 82F
