I just completed the setup of my 55 gal, water, plumbing, etc. I have a Lifereef hangon overflow but do not know how to get the siphon started using the U tube. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I am in the process of putting my plumbing diagram together before going out and purchasing the parts. I am wondering if there is a difference betwen using a gate valves vs ball valves to regulate the water flow both to and from the sump. Any recommendations would be helpful. Thanks.

You need at add Live Rock as a option here as I would guess that a significant number of pople use this method. I did and it worked great.
