What's the relation of calcium to the DkH reading? the lower the calcium the higher the alkalinity? and finally how can u balance if thats the case?

I would like to know what type of snail this is. The guy at my LFS told me it was a tiger snail but i couldn't find anything similar online, so i wanna see if you guys can take this one down! He usually just digs himself in the sand bed and chills.

hello i have been cycling my ten gallon for over a week now and my nitrates are at 80 ppm and no nitrites so should i go ahead and do a small water change? i got 13lbs. of live rock and about 16 lbs of LS.

that will really blow my tank up!!! lol but i think im gonna go ahead and get two minijets one on each side.

its a ten gallon with a rio plus 800 which circulates 211 gph.

its not that i point it at the sand, its actually pointing upwards but i guess its to powerful for my small tank cuz the flow bounces off the aquarium glass and downward towards the sand therefore creating holes on the sand.

yeah i got HOB filter and a power head. so that should be ok right? im probably gonna get a smaller powerhead cuz the one i have is to strong and it blows the sand in different directions leaving large holes in the sand bed.

Sorry for the newb question but, how does the water get oxygen if there is no underwater air pump? does it get it from the filter or skimmer??? i got a ten gallon tank and i was just wondering because im cycling it right now but i know that the bacteria that needs to be created also needs oxygen...
