We have PC's also. You only need MH if you plan to get mostly stony corals like acroporas. You can get soft corals and mushrooms and be fine with compacts. Honestly though I'm always envious of the shimmering in the tanks I see with MHs. My future tank will have MHs, for now I've put enough...

Very impressive tank!!!

The fish are a fairy wrasse, sunburst anthias, neon goby, purple firefish, midas blenny, and a maroon clown (not shown). The corals are flowerpots, zooanthiads, mushrooms, torch corals, hammer coral, brain coral, frogspawn, and a leather coral. I have a couple orange linkia starfish, and...
