    Post pictures of sun coral

SPS are sensitive to nitrates and need really good water quality. With all the feedings that the sun coral needs my water doesn't stay as good as it needs to be for thoes types of corals. To bad you don't live in southwest florida i would probally sell it to you.

    Oceana - sun coral question

This coral really isn't for a beginner, they are hard to keep up. Mine is doing good, but i might get rid of it once i start getting SPS corals ect. I don't think thoes corals can handle the bad water quality that is caused by feeding the sun.

    Post pictures of sun coral

so the bowl trick worked for you :D Sun corals don't need light, thats why they have to bed fed so much. I have MH lighting and the coral doesn't care. The downside to that is it really makes your water quality go down. Mine can down a whole cube of mysis in one feeding. I really like mine...

    Oceana - sun coral question

what i do is melt a cube of mysis in a cup and squirt about 1/2 of it in the bowl. I blow it around a little then let the coral sit for about 20 min then blow the mysis around again. It can take a couple days for it to learn that the mysis is actually food, but it should start comming out good.

    Oceana - sun coral question

I normally feed mine everyday, so i would say do it, it needs the extra food, espically looking like that. It is opening up good though. Another way to feed it is to take it out of the tank and put it into a bowl with a bunch off food. It will open up for the food, plus it won't mess up your...
