    Nitrates 80. Inaccurate test?

I don't have a refugium. Will look into one of those. I do weekly 1/3 water changes. Can results be affected if I test water right after a feeding or if fish just pooped? Both happened today about a half hour before I tested.

    Nitrates 80. Inaccurate test?

I have a 125 fowler tank with a naso tang, clown, melanurus wrasse, coral beauty, kleins butterfly, and pink square anthias. Also have a cc star and many snails, crabs and a couple large clams that came attached to live rock. 180 # live rock. The tank is thriving. Today I tested the nitrates and...

Coral Beauty tail appears to be dissolving

Thanks for your response. I have never seen any aggression towards him from any other fish, and his tail has a chunk missing at the end, like it could be a bite. But his tail also has complete holes thru it. Hard to imagine that would be from a bite. Anyway, I took pics from my phone, but still...

Coral Beauty tail appears to be dissolving

I've had a coral beauty for almost a week and his tail looks as if its dissolving or falling apart as best I can describe. He is very active and eats well. What could this be? He's in a 125 with a clown, melanurus wrasse, naso tang, pink square anthias and 3 green chromis. I am so puzzled...

Yellow tang bullying new naso. Please help!

Well, rearranging rock didn't work. Just took the tang to my LFS (where I also work pt). Got a 65 dollar credit for him and picked up a coral beauty and some hermits and turbo snails. Hopefully I'll be back to a peaceful tank. :)

Yellow tang bullying new naso. Please help!

I just got a new naso tang yesterday and he is doing great other than the fact my yellow tang keeps charging him and fanning him with it's tail. The naso is about half the size of the yellow. Will this behavior subside after a while and/or is there anything I can do? I don't want to lose him to...

    Suggestions for next fish addition

I have a 125 gallon FOWLR tank with approx 180 lbs live rock. The tank has been up and running about 6 months and I have had no problems whatsoever with it. Right now I have 3 small green chromis, a pink square anthias, melanurus wrasse, clown and yellow tang. What do you all think about adding...

    Clown disappeared!?!?

I have a 125g with 180lbs live rock, octopus skimmer. The tank has been running approx 3 months. My parameters have all been consistently 0's except I've had trouble getting my Nitrates under about 30. I had 2 clowns, 3 green chromis, and a melanurus wrasse. 2 days ago one clown disappeared and...

Would a naso tang be acceptable?

I like tangs, angels, longhorn cow fish, puffers, triggers. I do have a few crabs and snails so I know that limits what I can get. I am totally open to suggestions. I just want to do the right thing! Thanks for your help!

Would a naso tang be acceptable?

I have a 125 gallon tank with 180 lbs live rock, 5 inch dsb,, octopus skimmer. The tank has been running 3 months and I currently have 3 green chromis, 2 clowns, and a melanurus wrasse. I would love a naso tang and have heard various opinions on whether or not a 125 is too small. What do you...

    Cycle complete

So my cycle is complete on my 125g with 160lbs dead rock and 20lbs live. My skimmer should arrive tomorrow and I was wondering if I can now add the CUC or should I skim for a while before adding them? Thanks for your help!

    Acceptable stock list for 125g?

No. I had a 75 gallon fowlr years ago, but recently decided to get back into it. No plans to upgrade anytime soon.

Does this fish list sound ok for a 125?

Thanks for responding. I have an Octopus skimmer ordered. I don't plan on doing a reef. The live rock is set up in such a way that there is ample room all around it for the fish to swim and a few spots to swim between.
