    New Tank setup advice

Thank you very much for all the advice. I think I will count my pennies and take back a few more bottles (live in michigan) and try to get as much LR and LS as I can. Like you said, do it right the first time and save money in the long run. You guys are great!! Thanks again!

    seeding LR and LS

Thanks for all the information. Sorry for the delay, out of town. I am looking to buy a sand sifter so that it would keep the sand clean and from what I understand they eat the bugs. Thanks again.

    seeding LR and LS

I have researched the sand and have seen on many forums people have used it with great success. It is very fine and clean (rinsed it very well). I used to have CC in there and swapped it out approx 2 1/2 mos ago. I have not had any other problems (other then an algae issue). It is much more...

    seeding LR and LS

How much live sand would I need to start the seeding? As far as a refug, I do not have one. The fish that I have in there would tear the 200 (or more) copepods without giving them a chance to reproduce?

    seeding LR and LS

The tank is about 3-4 months old and I do not have anything live in there other then the 2 fish and a few crabs/snails. I would like to work on getting the sand and rock teaming with life. When you add LS do you take out the other sand?

    Angry Damsel

I recently added some snails/blennie/hermits to my tank and I have a 3 stripe damsel (I know they are tempermental) that has been living in the tank for approx 1 month by himself. My question is this damsels face turns brown and he starts to swim up and down (like he is swimming in a W pattern)...

If I were to run phosban to reduce the algae in the tank, do I run the risk of starving my LMB?

    Reworking Rockwork

I would to get a Goby to do some sand sifting but my rock is not on the glass. Is it a problem to move the sand some to get the rock on the glass? I think that I can just wiggle it around to "sink" it further into the sand. Also, is it bad to remove sand? The tank has been up for appox 2-3...
