i just found a white with a little bit of brown Asterina starfish on the zoo. im not sure that it was eating it really but it was on the rock, could this be a culprit? i still think it is zoopox though because it is white dots and the ones that look really bad are yellowing brown

i moved him to a qt tank that i set up yesterday. it has a biowheel filter that i had running on another tank in case i needed to set up a qt tank real quick. the tank shouldnt cycle right? its a 20 gallon...so back to will it spread to my other corals? should i stop running the chemi pure on...

i read that if you recently added carbon, this could cause zoopox. i added chemipure right around the time this happened. should i remove the chemi pure? most importantly, should i remove the rock and if i dont will it spread?

i have about 6 different types of zoos in my tank. one of them hasn't opened in about 1 week and another one looks like 2 polyps are hanging by there mat almost off the rock. the rest of them look good and are growing. there are also some white marks on one of them as you can see in the picture...

actually, is there a a different pump needed for a venturi skimmer? i did some searching and for a "rio800 rvt"(rejuvenating venturi) and a rio 800 look the same, but are they different? should i have got one that says rvt? it doesnt look like it is any different at all???

alright so i have a proclear 75 on one of my tanks...it has been sitting outside for a month or 2 before i started it up again. i got a new pump(rio800) and hooked it up and now im not getting any turbine or bubbles what so ever.. any ideas?

ok. i will leave the leather alone and i guess oyur right, it is probably fine. but when im getting new corals, what should i be dipping in? can you suggest a brand?

it is always shedding but it never sheds away the brown on the base...

big, what test kit are you using and everyone else....do the corals that i ahve need or like to be fed dt's?

i dont over feed with anything. so you guys think that my phos test isnt accurate? i change my ro filters regularly and i dont over feed anything and when i feed mysys i defrost on my tank water and then drain all the water out before i put the mysys in the tank

should i be feeding dts with the corals that i have? i also have a sun coral. i will check my ro for phosphates. The only thing i can think is that the dts is what is giving me phosphates

I have a couple of questions about iodine and corals. First problem i have is, my toad stool. The bottom HALF of the 'trunk' or 'stalk' of the toadstool is kinda brown rather then the pinker other half and pink head. It is not supposed to look like this and Im not sure why it does but it always...

also, could the DT's be creating this problem? am i feeding it to my tank when it is not necessary? The corals i have are zoo's, frogspawn, toad stool, open brain, acropora, orange monti cap and 2 different lps tree type corals that i am not sure what they are(not colt i dont think)

i rarely test my phosphates because i feel that the test is hard to read. If I am reading it correctly then i have a phosphate level of 2ppm, maybe a little less. I am using a API test for phosphates. i just tested my nitrates with red sea and salfert and both had a reading of 0. My chaeto grows...
