ok,here goes.last sunday we switched fro cc to live sand.did testing the next morning and everything looked real good.last night i did testing again and this is what i got ammon.0 ph 8.2 alk normal nitrate (not sure how to read) it says low range 10 and high range 50. nitrite 0.5. its red sea...

p.s. we also made a few nylon bags of the cc and put them in various areas in the tank.

Im still kind of new here but just sunday we switch from cc to live sand. it was time consuming but relatively pretty easy.I just did all my tests this am and everything is at normal level.I thought it would be harder than sh**. but it wasnt.we scooped out the cc with a plastic bakers...

it seems like when you get into this subject ...there is alot of people who come outta the wood work...by that i mean names u havent really saw on this site all that often...i personally have cc but bought live sand and now im really considering whether or not to use it.:thinking: :nervous:

I may be wrong but I dont dry my hands with a towel. It may have soap or fabric softner on it. I personally use paper towels, one roll for household and one just for the tank

Hi.I have been looking for weeks at 3 Home depot's for the sand to make live sand with no avail.But I happened to run into a thread that gave out the sku#,upc# and model#. What I really want to say is for all the newbies here is to call or bring those #'s to the store.I had a guy in the store...
