    10 gal nano by 1guydude

Tiger pistols are messy. Go with a Randalli Pistol shrimp (the red and white striped one). They're more peaceful, don't grow as quickly, and don't make as much of a mess.

    10 gal nano by 1guydude

Hey just as a heads up, I had a tiger pistol and barber goby combo in my 24 (2 years), and the shrimp kept the water kinda murky seeming, even with weekly water changes. I don't recomend it in a small tank cause they are always sifting stuff around. Just from my experence!

High fin goby & tiger pistol shrimp

I got a pair of these guys last friday. I acclimated them for two hours. The shrimp found a spot towards the front of the tank " perfect just what I wanted". To date the fish has remained hidden I have yet to see him eat. I am a little worried that he may starve to death. I hope he pulls...

20 Gallon Long Reef Tank (NEW)

Definitely make sure that it's a pistol and not a mantis. It's also good if you can get an ID of the pistol if that's what it is as some are more peaceful than others. From my experience, pistols that are paired with a shrimp goby, especially smaller shrimp gobies such as Yasha's are less...

    hitchhiker question

Sounds like a baby mantis, which usually doesn't have color yet, or a pistol shrimp (Tiger Pistol Shrimp). Can you take the rock out? If you can, there are a few methods: 1) Place the rock in a bucket with a salinity level higher than 1.03. and let it soak. Usually bad critters will come out in...

    Shrimp Gobies and Pistol Shrimp

...though and will eat an ornamental shrimp if it gets a chance. Usially this doesn't happen because the inhabit different areas of the tank. There are differences in Shrimp and Gobies. Tiger Pistol Shrimp are a fairly safe bet as far as paring goes. They will accept most of the shrimp gobies.
