Fish don't survive long in my display

If it is the source all his fish should die. He has fish in the tank alive and well. It seems new additions are not living. Thats why I'am thinking aggression or lack of oxygen. There maybe enough for his current few fish but not enough for new ones. It's a 200 gal tank so it could take a bit...

Fish don't survive long in my display

Water movement isn't the issue. The surface of the water needs to be exposed to air. Basically u want the top of your water to look likes its boiling atleast in part of your tank. To confirm, your tops cover the whole tank w no open areas in back?

Fish don't survive long in my display

If the tops are sealed tight you have no gas exchange. This will kill fish. Is the top totally covering the tank w no open area?

The rock would be fine. But wayyyyyy too many fish. I wouldn't add a doz to a 200 gal at one time. Let the tank go test your water and wait. Then wait some more

Fish don't survive long in my display

Low salinity is a touchy subject. Fish can handle it much lower than inverts tho. So reefs need the 1.023-25 range. I know lfs that keep it low for disease reasons like u said. However ich can live at any range higher than hypo. Certain other nasties may not but ich can. That said, your losing...
