hi @fishkiller if your salinity starts at 1.027, after top off should still be 1.027, you only top off with RODI not salt water. Water evaporates salt doesn't, the reason you top off is to keep your salinity stable. Hope this helps.

I've been told but don't know if fact that it consumes 70% more nitrates to. 30% phos to survive. A more knowledgable reefer will chime in I am sure. So 0 nitrates may still be an issue ?

Those things weren't swimming, I run two 150w gyers that I had turned up because I had no idea what had invaded my tank and they were being flung around by the flow with me panicking and trying to get them over the overflow. lol I have shown the video to a super experienced reefer also...

I've just been told that here in Aussie corals will spawn once a year 5-7 days after a full moon in March/April. Last full moon here was the 4th March. So may well have been. This is such a fascinating hobby. !!! :)

Watching TV last night. Hubby looks over to tank. & I hear "wtf". I look over and this is what we see. Was not there 5 mins ago. Cleared up about an hour later. Could any one please help I really was a little concerned. !

I used to target feed once a week, but last year or so I havent. , I just use ammino in the water twice a week at lights out and all the corals have thrived. They also obviously feed on fish pooh and food in the tank, The only thing I do feed regularly is my BTA's

I run mine 24/7 and I only have 6 fish in a 7 footer. the crap it pulls out is amazing.

My lipstick is my centre piece not because he has the brightest colors etc, but he is the largest in the tank and most certainly the ruler of this tank !

And that's exactly the way this hobby is. Different experience for every one. That's why these forums are so good because you can gather DIFFERENT options. Opinions & make up your own mind. There is very little in this hobby that is right & wrong just different is all. !
