    does my tang have ich?

ok will QT for longer next time. Could it be the time when my heaters failed that caused the stress on the tang and hence the ich/death? All levels are zero and appropriate. Although the first time i tested for Ammonia it said 0.5! Ive retested and it is zero, although I am testing again, plus...

    does my tang have ich?

ok I came home from university today, and its died. Very frustrating, that means it took less than 2 days to kill it. I had the copper treatment in my hand too ready to help it. Trying to find out what went wrong, about 2 weeks ago my heater failed and it went a little chilly, not for too long...

    does my tang have ich?

hi beth, Well I lost a royal gramma to it, but the clown was fine after being in the QT for 3 weeks. Yes everything is QT'd for 10 days before it comes into my tank. Yes there is an online vendor that does ship, but freight is $40 so it has to be worth it. Tim.

    does my tang have ich?

Hi Guys, I was just feeding my two fish (Regal/Hippo Tang and false Percula) and i noticed what APPEARED that might be Ich. Ive had it before, lost a couple of fish to it in the past year but also the clown has survived 2/3 outbursts of it. I set up a QT about 6 months ago that is on the go now...

true but unless you are absolutely blitzing the whole of your tank, that amount of kalk shouldnt make any big difference. Tim.

    How do replace substrate?

Hi guys, Well when I first set up the tank nearly a year ago, i used normal sand. Obviously after hearing the advantages of live sand, I added a load of this on top of the existing (and distinctly greyer) sand. Well now the horrible looking gray sand stuff is working its way back up to the top...

    Aptasia?

a copperband butterfly is meant to, but i think its a bad idea to get a fish for a purpose like that. there is never any guarantee, and there is some debate over whether a CB buttefly is reefsafe anyway. Tim.

    Question for Kipass about Flatworms

The exit stuff is really good and great at getting rid of FW, the danger is the fallout. As has been said, water change and carbon essential. I have been told that for every one flatworm you can see, there are four you cannot. Good luck, Tim.

    Aptasia?

yes they are practically identical, although one maybe stripier i think? You need Lysmata Wurdemanni and not Lysmata Rathbunae. I made the mistake of getting the rathbunae who likes nothing better than to make friends with aiptasia, and not eat it! Hope this helps, Tim.

    Aptasia?

if you do get a peppermint shrimp make sure itis the true peppermint (Lysmata Wurdemanni) not the other one who couldnt care less about aiptasia! Tim.

    new swf.com

I agree, nice site, and for every other part of the site the thin-ness is good, but it is compromising the message board section! Surely there is a way around it? Because people will be put off and go to other boards and support other online reef companies. Surely thats not what SWF want?!? Tim.
