    Water parameters for LPS

So, you add chemicals? That's what I'm getting at. I don't think any salt mix is going to give you ideal parameters, is it?

And what are you all doing to maintain those parameters?

Post Your LPS Full Tank Shot!!

What is the large, fingery coral in front of the overflow in the second pic? (looks like it's in the first one, too, but easier to point it out in the second pic)

    Water parameters for LPS

How picky are LPS? Not as picky as SPS, right? Please tell me what your calcium, alk, etc levels are, how often you test, how you keep them at the levels you do, etc. Help me get an idea of where I need to be before I add LPS corals.

    Suggestion some LPS for me!

Ah, yes. I like to post the same question on both to get the most feedback. I agree about the Zoas. They'd probably be unnoticed in a tank my size. I couldn't believe my eyes the first time I saw some in person. Photos are always very close up, and the polyps look half dollar sized, at...

    Suggestion some LPS for me!

Thanks!!! ci, what softies did you have that died or did not do well after you started adding LPS? I'm thinking of a couple of rics or yumas, mushrooms, and maybe a colony of zoas or palys. This won't be a heavily stocked (with coral) tank, by the way. I just want to add some color. I am...

    Suggestion some LPS for me!

Thank you. Is that a list of only "highly toxic" or are all softies "highly toxic" and that is a complete list?

    Suggestion some LPS for me!

I am planning on mostly softie tank, with a few LPS. Here's what I have: 220g - 72x24x30 tall 3 x 250w MH Currently just 15x turnover, but I'm picking up two more K4s today, hopefully, and that'll put me at 25x. So, I do have MH's, but they are over a 30" tall tank, and I do not have my rock...

Yeah, I bought a Yellow Tang and Purple Tang when I got the tank. There is also a Yellowtail Damsel. All of them are doing great!

Tell me everything about keeping Softies

Yay!!! I like several LPS corals. I forgot to say that I was posting the pic to show how my rock doesn't go real high, near the lights. About the sand, I'll get an actual measurement. It might be only 2-2.5". I bought this setup almost two weeks ago. Basically moved everything from the...

Tell me everything about keeping Softies

    I forgot to mention that I have 3 x 250w MH's, but that's over a 30" tank. Here's a pic.. sorry, it's big That's not too much light, is it?

Tell me everything about keeping Softies

Quick bio - 220g 72x24x30 high 210lbs of live rock 3" live sand bed Smallish sump, only 40g. Octopus nw-200 skimmer. The only semi high tech item I have is a phosban reactor. I was suggested to check out softies because: I am looking to NOT spend a ton of money or time on a complicated setup...
