Live rock is pretty much a necessity for marine environments, especially for the aggressive ones. It provides shelter, a natural looking environment for the fish. It is decorative, it heps to break down bacterias for u and watnot. I wouldnt do without it. And, oh, dont just "throw yer fish in"...

How big is the lion? It looks like an adult volitan, cept it still has its horns and a beard...so i dunno, i think its normal for adults to lose the horns and grow out the beard protrusions..maybe its cuz its from the wild? Sweet fish....

No, i spend my entire day leafing through fish booklets at skool, note ven paying attention in class, and then i go home and stare at my fish. I make my money cleaning and setting up fish tanks for the local aquarium store and i spend my free time staring at my fish and cleaning the tank... NOT

I feel the need to be impressed very often. It could be a joke, it could not. I dont like seeing tangs in anything smaller than a 100 gallon tank...thats torture. Thanx for the compliements

The groupers a little punk....hes really shy about me, but doesnt mind biting off half of my tangs tail...ill try to get some pics of him, he is a blackridge coney grouper without a tail.

K, first off there are plenty of threads about teen tanks. Second, yer tank is a mess. The fish, the corals, the cyano bacteria infesting the sandbed. tsk tsk

If yer talkin about how they are sold on *********** and marinedepotlive, then the black ones are silmply less colorful and angular, whereas the "red" volitans are angular in the face, have a reddish hue and watnot. Sometimes russels are also referred to as blacks
